Marjorie Levoe: All photos moved from Multiply. All magazine and news clippings are new Oct 9, 2013.

"New York showgirl whose most spectacular career moment was appearing as “The Spirit of Modernism” wearing a cubist fantasia as the finale of the 1931 Beaux Arts Ball. Too much of a subversive wit to be employed by traditional producers, she devised in 1932 an amusing entertainment, an anti-fashion show entitled “What Women Will Not Wear” that marked the opening of a 5th Avenue Shop." [David S. Shields]

Radio Digest October 1928: "Marjorie Le Voe, above, helped bring fame to KYA, San Francisco, of the American Broadcast Chain by winning the Golden Apple in a beauty contest."

Mount Vernon Daily Argus NY 5 May 1932: "Selected as the modern Cinderella, Marjorie Levoe is shown at the Allied Shoe Industries' convention in New York as she exhibited the perfect foot that won her the title... [...] her ideal foot size, 5 1/2, and its exquisite shape."

Beaux Arts Ball_NY Sun 22 Jan 1931: "... The spectacle is to come to a climax with a tableau arranged by Ben Ali Haggin and Philip A. Cusachs, entitled "The Spirit of Modernism," the leading character being Miss Marjorie Levoe, the "Sunkist Girl" from California..."

Gloversville Morning Herald NY 31 Aug 1932: "She was called "the ideal show girl" by the late Flo Ziegfeld. And now fiar Marjorie LeVoe is Mrs. Harry Rosenthal. She was wed to the actor-orchestra leader in New York the other day while numerous stage celebrities looked on."
