by jane for group historicalziegfeld Jun 23, 2009

This Volume of Theatre Arts magazine contains a special "glimpse backward" at 1919: The Broadway Season, Dawn Over Hollywood, Music, Literary Scene, Dance and Long, Long Ago. I've only scanned 'The Broadway Season' so far. If anyone is interested in seeing the others (or any of the other articles in this magazine) please leave a comment saying which, thanks.

I've included the Tableaux image to be posted on the other site that gives names and other info for it.

In this album:

Florenz Ziegfeld, A.L. Erlanger, Schuberts, Morris Gest, Washington Square Players, Ziegfeld Follies of 1919, Ben Ali Haggin Tableau Hail to the Thirteenth Follie (Jessie Reed, newest Follies Girl), Eva LeGalliene, Walter Hampton, Frank Bacon, Irene Bordoni, Ed Wynn, Margalo Gillmore, Alfred Lunt, Elsie Mackay, Glenn Hunter, Helen Hayes, Mary Boland, John Flood, Marion Davies, Justine Johnstone, Olive Thomas, Olive Tell, Martha Mansfield, Marion Coakley, Irving Berlin, Leonore Ulric, Frances Starr, Lionel Atwell, Ann Pennington, Edmund Lowe, Florence Reed, H.E. Sothern, Julia Marlowe, Laurette Taylor, John Barrymore, Lionel Barrymore, Maude Hanaford, Arthur Forrest, Jeanne Eagels, Jane Cowl, Billie Burke, Mrs Fiske, Blanche Bates, Holbrook Blinn, Fay Bainter, Ina Claire and many others.

Well, this is just wonderful! Thanks so much for sharing it, I loved every word and morsel of information. As to what else I'd like to see....I guess your free time doesn't run to "All of it", does it?!! How about the movies and dance parts? Wow, this is just great! Kathie
