Thank you for a great site and the lovely photos of Elsie Lawson (1899-1942). Please note that Elsie never went by 'Eleanor' and is often confused with an older actress Eleanor Lawson (1875-1966). There is more about Elsie at the site above and an album dedicated to her on pinterest.

I found this old newspaper clipping about my uncle William Fleck of De Pere, Wisconsin and wondered if anyone had information on the Ziegfeld Girl he married in 1924 in Menominee, Michigan -- named either Evelyn Kanute or Evelyn Brown.

    May 15, 1924, De Pere Journal-Democrat
William Fleck and Miss Evelyn Kanute were married on May 4th, at the Upper Peninsula Gretna Green, Menominee. The bride is a former member of Ziegfeld’s Follies, and her stage name was Evelyn Brown. Her home was in Milwaukee. “Bill” was receiving the hearty congratulations of his friends when the rumor of his marriage was spread about last week, but he coyly evaded the matter. He and the new Mrs. Fleck now wish to announce their marriage in the usual manner. Best wishes and good luck.

I think the mystery may be sleovd! A friend of this site sent me a similar image, taken at the same time as the one above, and that print was signed by Ruth Etting, and dated 1930. She also included Ziegfeld's Simple Simon under her signature, so I think it's pretty clear that this particular photo session was to create promo photos for that show! Mystery sleovd!

I would love to know if the photo of Julia Morrison 1900 is a photo of the actress Julia Morrison who was acquitted of murder in January 1900 in Chattanooga, TN. I found her picture in the Elmer Chickering collection.

I recently uploaded a photo of a model with a large scimitar. The internet tells us the model is Anita Page but I have my doubts. Would you folks know who the model and photographer would be? Thanks for any help and I love this site.

A while back I started collecting images of Lucette Desmoulins, not realizing she had a name. Now I've found out who she is, and found ALL the pictures of her on this site,I'm fascinated to know any biographical information.

Please could you share any information have about her? Google has failed me!

Oh dear, I must stop by more often than every 9 months  Sorry, Paul and thank you! I'll get in touch by email. If you don't get one from me, please email me.

    Hello Jane,

You asked for a volunteer to handle all the ACJ photos. I am willing to volunteer, but my skills with doing things like this are as limited as they have been in the past. (For example, you asked for people to "raise their hands" to volunteer, but I don't know how to raise my hand, hence my resorting to the guestbook.) If you think I can help, let me know.

    Paul (Salgava)
